Contract for turbine generator set at Zgierz CHP Plant
On May 16th 2012, Wednesday, in the presence of the Vice-President of PGE GiEK, the Mayor of the Town of Zgierz and representatives of the local and county authorities, a consortium of PBG S.A., PBG Energia sp. z o.o. and Gaz & Oil Project Management sp. z o.o. signed a contract for the execution of the investment project named "Construction of an Extraction Condensing Turbine Generator Set at PGE GiEK SA, Elektrociepłownia Zgierz Branch”. On behalf of the Consortium, the contract was signed by Mariusz Łożyński, Vice-President of PBG S.A.'s Management Board. PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna is the investor under the project. The contract is valued at more than PLN 61,000,000.00 (VAT inclusive). The project's completion is due on December 31st 2013.
The contract provides for:
· Preparation of complete and comprehensive Documentation including, inter alia, the Preliminary Design, the Building Permit Design, and the Working Design)
· Disassembly of a LANG back-pressure turbine generator set along with auxiliary systems, and adaptation of the foundations for placement of the new turbine generator set
· Construction of a new heat-producing condensing turbine generator set with a nominal flow of 80 t/h and the following parameters of live steam before turbine: t=500°C, p=9 MPa
· Construction of a fan cooling tower (open system)
· Construction of a water treatment (decarbonisation) station
· Construction of a deep well
· Construction of high- and low-pressure feed heating systems using the existing water deaeration system
· Necessary gears for the existing equipment and facilities
· Corrosion protective and paint coating
· Sound insulation and sound absorbing systems
· Alteration of the machine hall and the main control room
· Start-up
· Staff training
· Development of an identification system manual at the CHP plant in accordance with KKS (Kraftwerk-Kennzeichensystem)
The project will significantly improve the efficiency of heat and electricity production while maintaining electricity production throughout the year, and ensure reliable supplies to customers. The project also marks the first stage of a series of planned projects aimed at modernising and retrofitting the Zgierz CHP Plant.
