Local community

As a socially responsible company, we support and join projects in the fields of science and research, culture, arts, sport and health. We support people with passion and provide help to those who need it most. A positive impact on the social environment, reflected in mutual cooperation and support, is an inherent element of our corporate development strategy.

Examples of our CSR activities that benefit the Local Community:

"All Children are Ours" initiative

2001. During the Advent, a red paper heart appeared in every office, bearing a child's name and age. An information campaign followed. Soon afterwards 60 gift parcels were piled under the Christmas tree. Today, as many as 250 children are waiting for this one unique box containing the long-awaited gift and a bit of our heart. This wonderful voluntary effort of our employees makes us confident that we have the ability and willingness to offer selfless help.

"Our Life – Our Health"

2003. We donated blood for the first time to save the life of a colleague. Everyone came to help. In the last nine years we collected 96 litres of blood and became fully aware that these simple gestures can make a big difference.

The purpose of the initiative is to actively promote blood donation. Volunteers who want to share a part of themselves may donate blood to the PBG Blood Bank No. 200. Our employees, friends or family members may count on us for blood.

Help for the Jurek Children's Shelter

2003. We donated a residential building to accommodate children who may not stay with their families for various reasons, and to provide them with comfortable living conditions. At various occasions, the management board members and employees of the PBG Group offered help to the shelter, which is run by the Family Reconstruction Association. To date, Jurek has offered support to nearly 50 children in need. Each of us can make their lives a little better and a little easier. This is the least we can do to help reduce social inequalities for children and young people in difficult personal circumstances.

Responding to current needs of the community

We also try to help those who need it most. Examples of the initiatives, taken as part of the employee voluntary work programme, include support for the 2010 flood victims, support for the animal shelter in Grodzisk and participation in the "Pencil for Africa" initiative.

The PBG Gallery

The gallery attracts artists from all over Poland. As a platform used to support artists and promote their work, it has become widely recognised in the artistic community. The PBG Gallery is a place where art and business meet. It is visited by representatives of the world of culture, art historians, representatives of art foundations, poets, musicians, and members of local authorities.

Apart from organising exhibitions and openings of established and aspiring artists, the PBG Gallery supports the local art market. It cooperates with the University of Arts in Poznań, Piotr Potworowski Artistic High School, and the Poznań Art Foundation „Made in Art”.

The region of Włocławek

As part of our cooperation with the Włocławek Commune, we have taken part in a number of initiatives supporting children from underprivileged families. One such initiative was the Friendly School project, which made it possible for children from poor families in Kruszyn and neighbouring villages to go away for summer and winter holidays. The aim of this and other similar projects is to positively influence children's upbringing by giving them exposure to positive patterns of behaviour and lifestyles, thus reducing social inequality. We have also provided funds for the construction of a daycare centre for children from Smólsk, refurbishment of a school building in Kruszyn, and the activities of the “Kruszynioki” Folklore Group.

Poles in the East

Since 2007 we have supported annual Remembrance Marches promoting historical knowledge. The marches are organised by the MEMORAMUS Society for Polish-Eastern Cooperation, and their participants include students from Polish and Russian schools. This is a two-stage initiative. The first stage comprises interschool workshops on the Polish-Russian relations, and the second one is a trip to Smoleńsk and Katyń.
